Florent Sassé is an urban market gardener leading Ferme de Borde Bio, an organic farm located in the heart of the Izards district in Toulouse. Trained as an agricultural engineer, he established the farm on land purchased by Toulouse Métropole in 2012 to preserve agriculture within the city. He cultivates approximately 1.5 hectares using organic farming methods, with unheated greenhouses and open-field plots.
His commitment focuses on crop diversity, experimentation (variety mixing, biological pest management), and biodiversity. Each morning, he organizes the harvest of the day’s vegetables, which are sold directly on site, ensuring freshness and a direct connection with consumers. Together with his team, he promotes a sustainable, human-centered, and community-driven model of urban agriculture.
